 18-05-12 :  ITS OFFICERS ABSORPTION ISSUE:  Hon'ble High Court, Delhi outrightly dismissed the modification application filed by BSNL seeking 25 months time for repatriation of unabsorbed ITS officers working in BSNL. Hon'ble HC while dismissing the application of BSNL directed it to complete repatriation process by 30th Sept, 2012.

 26-04-12 : The interest rate on the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) will be increased to 8.6 per cent for 2012-13. The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) had brought down the rate of interest to 8.25 per cent for 2011-12 from 9.5 per cent provided in 2010-11.The move is expected to benefit around five crore subscribers across the country.

  21-04-12 : CONGRATULATIONS !!! Sh. Sujit Kumar, TTA MSC Rajendra Nagar, Patna is selected in IES 2011 in civil engg with all india rank 13. He got admission in Govt Polytechnic Muzaffarpur in Electrical engg. and finished diploma in year 2002 with distinction and then joined BSNL.He was posted in Assam and got transferred to Patna in 2007. He completed his  AMIE (Electrical) in year 2009 meanwhile he got interest in civil engg and started doing AMIE in Civil engg and completed it in year 2011. SNATTA Nagaur congratulates him on his outstanding achievement and wishes him all the best for his future.

 04-04-12 :On 03-04-12, SNATTA Nagaur had a formal meeting with GS BSNLEU, Sh P. Abhimanyu, on the occasion of CEC meeting of Rajasthan Circle at Nagaur. We discussed the burning issues of JTO LICE and 30 % fitment to post 2007 DRTTA's with GS BSNLEU, Sh P. Abhimanyu and BSNLEU Rajasthan Circle Secretary Sh Motiram Choudhary. During the discussion it was proposed by GS BSNLEU to have talks between officiating JTO's and SNATTA leaders. The main hurdles for both the sides are the court cases filed from time to time. Various issues of both the sides can be resolved in a better manner if the same is discussed on a table, not the court. There will definitely be some solutions to the issues. Once the discussions are held and some consensus is reached, the same may be conveyed to the management and the path for the LICE will be cleared.GS BSNLEU assured to talk to both the sides.

On the issue of 30 % fitment to post 2007 DRTTA's, GS BSNLEU informed that the issue is under very active consideration of the CHQ and the same is dealt very strongly with the management.  SNATTA Nagaur pays homage to the warrior of SNATTA, Shri A Ravi Kumar DS SNATTA Warangal SSA A.P who passed away on 22^nd March 2012.  He is survived by his widowed mother, young wife and one year old son.  His services to the AP SNATTA can never be forgotten.  The demise of Shri Ravi Kumar is a great loss to his family and the SNATTA.SNATTA sincerely feels most deeply for the family of Shri Ravi Kumar, in this sad hour of bereavement. The loss is too severe to be expressed in words, and nothing can ever be done to compensate this huge loss to his family.  Ravi, May your soul finds peace and comfort.  We miss you.

 16-03-12: BUDGET HIGHLIGHTS :

1. The Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee announced raising the tax exemption limit from the curent level of Rs 1.8 lakh to Rs 2 lakh. For income upto Rs 2 lakh, the tax deduction will now be nill. For those with an income between Rs 2-5 lakh the tax deduction would be 10%. For income between Rs 5-10 lakh the tax bracket will be 20%. Income above Rs 10 lakh will now come under the 30% tax bracket.
2. Excise duty raised to 12% from 10%.
3. New equity savings scheme to provide for income tax deduction of 50 per cent for those who invest Rs.50,000 in equity and whose annual income is less than Rs.10 lakh. 
4. Branded silver jewellery fully exempt from excise duty.
5. Increased customs duty on gold and platinum to 4% from 2%.
6. Mobile phone parts exempted from basic customs duty.
7. School education exempt from service tax.
8. Service tax up from 10% to 12%.
9. Direct Tax Code implementation deferred.
10. Telecom towers made eligible for viability gap funding.

 06-11-11 :  Renowned Singer and Composer Bhupen Hazarika, best known for bringing Assamese folk songs into the limelight, died in Mumbai on Saturday owing to multiple organ failure at Mumbai's Kokilaben Hospital. Singer, songwriter, composer, filmmaker - he was a complete artist. Hazarika composed for Bollywood films too.
